Cake Flavors
As Whisk Cake Company has their own private garden, as well as AMAZING farmers close by, we try our best to have only local, organic fruits and ingredients in our recipes. We also do our best to preserve these ingredients at their peek so as to guarantee you the best flavors possible!!!!!

You may have noticed that our competitors might have a loooong list of flavors compared to what we have, but there is a reason for that! Our flavors that we use are not coming from a jar- they come from a plant. They are grown and cared for and loved just like the cakes they go into. So, when you are thinking about what is going into your mouth, remember that these flavors are real....not made in a chemical lab!

A lighter, sponge style cake with great flavor and moisture....Our most popular Vanilla Cake!


Red Velvet Cake
Always a crown pleaser, Red Velvet Cake has started to invade Canada in a big way....and we have one of the best recipe's for it!
Red Velvet Cake is a Southern U.S. based cake made with Cocoa Powder and Buttermilk which gives it its richer, denser feel with a lot of moisture. The most common filling pairing with this cake is Cream Cheese Buttercream, but since it is a chocolate cake at heart, really anything can go well with this red cake!
Carrot Cake
Now don't be fooled by this old fashioned cake flavor! Whisk Cake Company's light, moist Carrot Cake is unlike a lot of those heavy, dense carrot cakes that you've had in the past, and once you've tried it, there is no looking back!
Most commonly made with Raisins and Chopped Pecans, we can use one, both or neither of these ingredients if you prefer. Our secret to this amazing cake is the Golden Raisins that we soak in boiling water (with some secret ingredients) so that they plump up before baking the cake. This imparts some major moisture into the cake as well as some amazing flavors!
Apple Cinnamon Cake
This dense, extremely moist cake is ideal for fall and winter celebrations when you are wanting that apple cider type flavor. We make this cake with an obscene amount of Okanagan Granny Smith Apples that are grated right into the cake batter along with our homemade Apple Butter that we make specifically for this recipe. Freshly grated cinnamon also makes an appearance in this surprisingly different Cake Flavor option!
Cream Cheese Buttercream filling is the most common pairing with this cake, but other fillings like our Bavarian Cream, Chantilly or even the Raspberry Buttercream will shine layered in this flavorful cake!

Cream Cheese Buttercream
A blend of straight Cream Cheese and our Classic Buttercream. This is a light, whipped filling that is not overly sweet but imparts wonderful Cream Cheese flavor.

Bavarian Cream
A light, lemony flavor that tastes like the filling in a Boston Cream Donut.



Chantilly Buttercream
A 50/50 blend of our Bavarian Cream and our Classic Buttercream. This amazingly light, lemony filling goes great with our Vanilla Bean Chiffon Cake and any of the Berry Buttercream Fillings.

Fruit Based Fillings
The amazing thing about our fruit fillings is that we use whole fruit that we grow in our own 500 sq.ft garden...this means that we can control what gets sprayed on the fruit (nothing) and when they get picked! In other words, you get the best berries possible at their peak picking time which will give you the best tasting filling ever imaginable!
Here at Whisk Cake Company, we know we don't need to mess with a good thing- especially our berries, so all we do is throw the berries in whole into our Classic Buttercream, blend it up just enough to impart all of that great flavor while still having chunks of those great berries....that's it!
So, now that your mouth is drooling, here are your choices....

Our freshly made citrus curds are made with fresh citrus fruit and juice and are made fresh for our cake fillings. These go great with our Vanilla Chiffon Cakes as a middle filling- these have quite a punch to them!

Chocolate Fillings- Ganache

Have you ever had a Chocolate Truffle? You know that soft, smooth, decadent chocolate that is inside? Well, that is called Chocolate Ganache, and we use it as a filling for our cakes!
Ganache is simply chopped up high quality chocolate (we use a 56% Callebeau Chocolate) that has boiling heavy cream poured over it until the chocolate melts. We then cool it, whip it a bit and Viola..
Whipped Chocolate Ganache!

Our Ganaches go great  with our Chocolate Cakes for a Chocolate Lovers Dream Cake, or can be used as a center filling with any of the berry fillings....also goes great with Amaretto Mocha Buttercream!
For a bit more excitement, we can also add Peanut Butter or any of the berries to our ganaches for an extra punch of flavor!

Bailey's Irish Cream Filling
We make this filling with a couple ounces of Bailey's Irish Cream mixed with our Classic Buttercream Icing. If you are a Bailey's fan, you'll love this one!

To add a tasty twist to this classic, go for the Minty Bailey's Buttercream Filling...this one is surprisingly good!
Amaretto Mocha Buttercream Filling
This smooth tasting filling goes great with our Chocolate Chiffon Cake with Whipped Chocolate Ganache!
Latte Buttercream Filling w/ Espresso Crunch
Espresso mixed with our Classic Buttercream makes for a Coffee Lovers dream....with the addition of Espresso Crunch, this filling will make your tastebuds dance!
Peanut Butter Buttercream
Oh, such a heavenly flavor, how could you go wrong with this choice? Smooth Peanut Butter blended with our Classic Buttercream makes a Peanut Butter Lover drool! See our "Peanut Butter Cup" Combination for more info.
Cookies N' Cream Buttercream
What's better than crushed up Oreo Cookies mixed with our Classic Buttercream? Great for a kids birthday cake filling, or for you kids at heart! This filling flavor goes great with our Chocolate, Vanilla or Marble Cakes, and it guarantees to put a smile on your face when you cut into your cake!
Hazelnut Buttercream
For all of you Ferreiro Roche lovers, we blend freshly roasted and chopped Hazelnuts (or really any nuts that you prefer) with our Classic Buttercream for a smooth, nutty flavored filling. See our Highly Requested Combos for more info!
If you are a little overwhelmed by all of this information, let us help you out!

When we make our wedding cakes, a typical size tier is 4" tall. When you cut into the cake, you will actually have 4 layers of cake, and 3 layers of filling just like this picture here.

We typically suggest having 2 different flavors of filling per tier, or in other
words, have the top and bottom layers of filling one flavor (typically a lighter
flavor like a Berry or a Chantilly filling), while the middle layer of filling
is a different flavor (a more dominant flavor such as our Whipped Chocolate
Ganache filling). That way, when you slice into your cake, you will have some
beautiful colors (if you go with any of our Berry Fillings) and an amazing
balance of flavors.
